chapter 2
Think about the different roles that technology plays in your life. Technology helps to entertain, communicate ideas, and even save lives. That being said, some people attribut technology to a lot of problems in their lives... Consider cyber bulling, what are some ways that technology helps and hurts our lives? What role does technology play in Little Brother? How does technology help and/or hurt Marcus's life?

Technology basically runs our lives. It helps with everything we do, it knows everything we do. We rely on it for every aspect of our life, and that is not such a good thing. It makes it easier for people to know everything about us. Technology is so far the basis of Little Brother. Marcus thinks he controls technology, but it seems that it is going to get the best of him.
ReplyDeleteTechnology condems our world as well as it is blessed. In the past our worlds where outside connected to nature and people. Now you can work from home and computers, you have devices and it seems every month theres something new on the market. It seperates but also unites the world. Technology can even hurt you physically; with its rays of radiation causing health problems. Ironically technology can help with our health issues too. People create machines to see in our bodies and help save our lifes.
ReplyDeleteIn chapter two of Little Brother technology keeps Marcus connected to his cyber games and keeps him above his schools security measures.
Technology helps Marcus life by keeping him aware of his friends and people around him, he can hack their information. Marcus can also use technology to get revenge on the other students he does not like.
The way technology helps us is through medicine. Certain machines can tell our doctors if something is going on inside of our bodies that shouldnt be happening. A way it can hurt us when a person drives and texts. Their eyes need to be on the road. By texting a driving you are no only putting yourself at rick but others. Technology plays an enormous role in Little Brother. With all the loop holes he knows, Marcus can do anything and everything he wishes. Technology helps Marcus get away with most of the stuff he does, but I have a feeling it is going to come back and get him later on in the book. So the helping and hurting issue goes both ways.
ReplyDeleteFirst off technology is beneficial in being efficient just like this blogspot for example. On the other hand people can misuse technology and the people technoogy hurts are the ones whom are addicted for example: addictions to video games like World of Warcrafts, they have expanded... people on commercials have talked about their addiction to it. In Little Brother technology is the revolver, it is what keeps the story going it's symbolic to the computer world of how things travel technologically through codes just like Marcus does in life. The bad thing about Marcus using the technology is that he can be traced if he is not careful and he could be in a load of trouble!
ReplyDeleteTechnology helps us in many ways, not only to convey what an idea, entertain, or to save the lives of others, the Internet also helps to develop, on the one hand I think that the internet and sometimes even has its disadvantages, because it harms the health of first, second people to get used to it so much that all their questions are answered a lot about the Internet, on the other hand it is not right man, as it should develop without internet, read more books, which then develop their abilities, thinking, and not to sit for hours in Internet and doing something inappropriately, as there are different sites that a person should only have to write, and as an answer ready. I think this is wrong, especially youth of the 21st century, they are saved only the Internet, let's take our professors, parents, ancestors, they lived without a telephone, internet, but it worked, developed, professors based their ideas, and too evolved. Perhaps the Internet well, just not so much a bad thing but still need to spend more time outside of the Internet, a person develops more so. This is my personal opinion.
ReplyDeleteTechnology helps him by getting him out of certain problems within the school system for getting out or hacking into specific data in whch s beneficial to him.On another note Marcus could recieve a lot of trouble for his hacking because it is illegal.
Technology helps by checking our vital signs in hospitals or helps us get ahold of someone on the phone. But can also be dangerous to us like people can make weapons to hurt other people. The equipment in hospitals can break and may harm someone. Technology helps Marcus escape from school, bypass computer networks, but can get him in trouble if other people find out. Technology so far has helped Marcus escape from school undetected.
ReplyDeleteTechnology has positive effect on todays society. It can help us keep in touch with friends and family, find information on a certain topic, or even help find a recipe we want to try . Technolgy can be a very useful thing in our everyday lives, but it can also have a negative side. People can get made fun of online.There are cases where they person being made fun of commited suicide. In Little Brother technology plays a huge roll. It lets Marcus and his freinds get a way from how strict things can be. Marcus uses technology to talk to his friends and play an ARPing game, but he also gets in trouble with the technology he uses to get out of school & hack the system.
ReplyDeleteTechnology has a huge impression on lives today.It go to food to hospitals. technology is part of everyday life. Technology has helped with getting vitals and helping prople get help! It has effect us by depending on them so much! if we had lost technology people would freakout and go bananas!
ReplyDeleteIn the book Little Brother to me I think technology has a negative effect, because he uses technology to hack the school and to dig up dirt upon people.
Technology hurts Marcus's life becaue if he would have never went to play that game with his friends they would have never been out when the attack started. Technology ruins lives due to the fact that cyber bulling causes so many people to commit suicide.
ReplyDeleteTechnology helps us keep up with the world we live in. It hurts us when people use it for the wrong reason. In the book, technology runs the US just like it does now. Marcus can get on sites that he isn't supposed to be on during school. But the bad part is he gets in trouble for it a lot.

ReplyDeleteTechnology plays a big role in LIttle Brother. Marcus is able to bypass all his school security but it hurts him because he gets in trouble for it.
Technology can help us by saving our lives and making our lives more enjoyble. Hospitals use alot of technology to save and help people. We use cellphones, ipods, and internet to communicate and to explore whats going on so it's helpful towards us. People take advantage of technology, they abuse it. They send naked pictures of themselves or bully people. it can be very harmful because once you put something out there then it's always going to be there.
ReplyDeleteIt plays in all roles, he is constantly on his computer. He is usuing messing around, gaming, hacking etc. throught the whole chapter.
technology is his life. It helps him learn more but it hurts because he got in trouble with the school.
tech helps everyone from playing video games to research. technology is the main idea in this story it helps move it along and makes the story understandable. tech helps marcus alot when it comes to getting out of situations and staying out of trouble but tech also causes the trouble like the book scan bar and the reporting to his school about him skipping.
ReplyDeletetechnology is in everything we do it does some bad things but i think that it dose a lot more good then bad technology is veary importent in little brother because that is why he leves school that is how the shool trys to keep control on the students but be for this story im sure that he thought that technology really helped him by letting him skip school and other thing but now i dont think he has the same oppenun on that matter
ReplyDeleteTechology is helps us by speeding up something like a message which by mail would take a few days but my computer only a few seconds. So it help us communicate faster. But it hurts us by hurting our social skils. We are not as active in person.
ReplyDeleteTechnology plays a huge role in Marcus's life because everything he does involves computer and technology. It helps him beat his stricked school system. But hurts him by giving him a bad reputation with the school.
Technology is a big part of our lives. Without technology hospitals wouldnt have the things they have that help people in need or people who are relying on technology to keep them alive. And cell phones are another form of technology that almost everyone has, which in my eyes is a good thing because if your in danger or you need help then you have a way to get in touch with someone who can help. But it can also hurt us, like cell phones are a good thing but also very bad. Like talking on the phone or texting while we drive, it causes wrecks and some can be fatal. Technology helps Marcus because he learns his ways around obsticales that deal with technology. But then again technology hurts him, because he knows so much about computers and he figures his way around secruity systems at school which gets him in trouble and he foucus more on his online video games.
ReplyDeleteTechnology can help make your life easier or it can ruin your life depending on how you use it. Like for markus he liked all that cool hacking stuff but when the DHS pulled him in it got him into more trouble.
ReplyDeleteTechnology can hurt us because people can put harmful/hurtful things on the internet. It helps us because if you need directions you can always use a GPS. Google has useful information.
ReplyDeleteTechnology plays a huge part in Little Brother. When Marcus goes back to class from the office, the security cameras recognize him from the way he walks.
