This quote fits into chapter 5 because when Marcus lies he is just really causing more panic than what was originally there. When Marcus lies he is his friends also lie which not knowing that all of there lies turn against them. By says that Darryl was on the boat not knowing that is also blew up they cause everyone to think that he is dead. Causing more stress to the situation.

  2. This quote fits into the current chapter because Marcus has suffered the loss of his best friend; who he belives to be dead. He has not thought much of the inccident and doesn't go back to the memory in his mind. When asked about Darryl by his parents he lies and says Darryl was not with the group when the events unfolded. By lying to them he lies to himself for the time being so he wont feel the loss.

  4. it does because he lies to make himself feel better about getting the rest of them in trouble with dhs he lie to darllys parents they probably think he is dead because he said he was on the bart and that got bloon up when the brige did and every one at school probably thinks he is dead for the same reason

  5. The quote fits into Chapter five, because when Marcus lies to his parents, he is also lying to himself. He is in denial of what happened, and where Darryl is. He is afraid of what could happen if he told everyone the truth, but I think he is more afraid of truly understanding the gravity of the truth.

  6. When he lies to his parents he is lying to Darryl's parents and other people too because they think he died when the bridge blew up but actually he is alive but he is being held captive by the DHS. If he were to tell the truth then Darryl's parents wouldn't be in the as sad or heartbroken compared to knowing he is at least alive but held captive by the DHS.

  7. Marcus Yallow lies to his parents and Darryls parent they are under the assumpetion that Darryl is dead. They assume that Darryl was still at the bridge when it got blown up. In all actuallity Darryl is being held by the DHS. Marcus's lie has caused more heartbreak amd sorrow than his truth about Darryl would.

  8. This quoke is referring to when Marcus had to lie to his parents about where he was for the few days after the bombing. He wanted so deperately to tell his parents where he was and how the people treated him while he was there, but they told him to to tell/talk to anyone about it. If he did they would pick him up and put him in jail. Its not just that lie to his parents. From that point on everything in his life is a lie. He is constantly questioning his safty. Everything he once knew was gone. His freedom, his life, and his carelessness about hacking websites. He didnt know what was real and what was a lie.

  9. This quote fits in chapter 5 because if Marcus tells the truth about his friend to his parents they might be mad at him for not telling them sooner. But since he lied his parents believe that he told them the truth about Darryl. Hes afraid of telling them and then them being mad at him would make him feel lonely.

  10. Marcus is lying to himself also, the reason is say this is because hes trying to convince himself to believe in those lies

  11. Marcus didnt want to think of Drryl still being gone so he lied. When he lies to his parents hes also lying to himself.

  12. It fits because it is true, since Marcus's plan is to have Vanessa and Jolu lie because he worried that no one will believe them, if they told them the REAL story.

  13. He is lying to everyone who could be listening and the reader who is reading the book.when you read the book Marcus knows that DHS still has him. He is telling people that he was on the BART and everyone knew that the BART blew up. So now everyone who has heard or reads that they now the truth but the other characters don't know the real truth.

  14. This qoute fits inside this book because when Marcus gets back from the DHS. He wouldnt be able to tell his parents because nobody would believe and DHS would kidnapp him again.

  15. The reason Marcus tells his parents a lie is because if he told the truth, he would be locked up in a dark cell for the rest of his life. He also lies to his friends about what is happening in some parts.

  16. He is lying to himself also. He tells is parents something different when he wants to tell them the truth but he can't because of DHS. DHS told Marcus he would be arrested for treason if he told his parents the truth so he didn't.

  17. This quote fits in because Marcus tells many lies so he doesnt have to go back with the DHS.

Marcus not only lies to his parents about Darryl but also to everyone that was looking for Darryl, because now they have to assume he was on the BART.

  18. It relates to Marcus not being allowed to tell anyone about being taken and questioned by the DHS. He is lying to himself, as well, because he is making up the story as he goes along.

  19. Yes, but it is based on the future. This book reminds me of how technologically challenged I am.

Their gait-cams recognize a person by the way they walk, but we just have regular cameras.
It allows the government to invade your bubble to prevent terrorist from attacking. It relates because terrorists blew up the Bay Bridge in San Francisco.
